My career has taken a natural progression, from Lead Solution Architect, where I designed platforms and standardized processes across Mastercard's Merchant Loyalty group, to Lead Site Reliability Engineer, where I brought that architectural perspective to observability, reliability tooling, and incident management. The two roles are more connected than people assume.

One project I'm particularly proud of is SIREN, a platform I conceived and built from scratch that pulls together data from across multiple systems into a single client-centric view. What started as a gap I noticed became a tool used daily by Solution Architects, Technical Account Managers, and Customer Success teams.

Before Mastercard, I led architecture at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, where I standardized integrations that cut project costs by 70–80%. Earlier in my career I founded and led technology companies in the US and in Europe, building enterprise software for organizations ranging from global financial institutions to the Open Society Institute.

I care about mentoring and knowledge sharing as much as the technical work itself, whether running workshops, helping a junior architect think through a design, or working through a hard problem alongside a customer success team.

Professional History

Sep 2024 – Present Mastercard, Inc.
Boston, MA
Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Brought architectural perspective to SRE, setting multiple Merchant Loyalty reliability records.

  • Designed and built SIREN, an internal platform aggregating data from multiple systems of record into a single client-centric view, adopted across Solution Architecture and Customer Success teams.
  • Drove critical incidents to a four-year low of 55, beating the 2025 KPI by 19.1% (trajectory: 401 → 207 → 81 → 55); proactively resolved ~50% of issues before escalation.
  • Set multiple records: first-ever 100% MTTM performance; mean time to mitigate of 167 min average (60.1% faster YoY); longest S1–S2 MTBF on record (31 days, August 2025).
  • Authored and implemented a company-wide observability standardization plan; built dashboards monitoring 5xx/4xx error rates and latency using Prometheus, Grafana, and Domo.
  • Diagnosed a long-standing client latency issue to root cause — RDS SQL Server lock contention — and drove full resolution.

Designed platforms and standardized processes across Merchant Loyalty; built new products and resolved critical client issues.

  • Conceived and delivered Co-Brand Optimizer (CBO) – a new product – from process design through Mastercard's Studio commercialization process to market launch.
  • Resolved a $2MM financial discrepancy to zero; transformed a client on the verge of churning into an advocate with NPS of 95.
  • Standardized Business Requirement and Solution Design Document onboarding templates for multiple country subsidiaries; coordinated adoption across international teams.
  • Built a file conversion toolkit and transfer monitoring dashboard, significantly reducing toil for Technical Account Managers and Customer Success Managers.
  • Coordinated data flows across NGFT, UDAP, Hadoop, MRS, SessionM, and BizOps.
